Product Empties #1

Hello again; today I have a post about the products I've used up recently, and before anyone panics and thinks that I go through products like crazy, I assure you that I've built up this collection over almost 6 months. I'm going to do a mini review of each product and let you know whether I plan on repurchasing it (or already have!), as this will give you a good indication of whether I really do love a product. Oh, and I apologise for the quality of the photos in this post, it's been very stormy so there hasn't been very good lighting for a couple of weeks but I really wanted to get a new post up for you guys.

Haircare

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor - I like to use a deep treatment like this about once or twice a week, and have done since the age of about 8 so I've tried out a fair few products like this, and I must admit that for me, this really doesn't live up to the hype. I took this on holiday with me and used it for every wash so that my hair didn't dry out but found that it helped less than a normal conditioner! I had the same results when I got home so this won't be a repurchase for me.

Fudge Urban Iced Raspberry and Vanilla Hairspray - This is about my fifth can of this, and I already have another two as backups; I just can't get enough of this hairspray! It has amazing hold yet can easily be brushed out and allows my hair some movement, and best of all it smells amazing - what's not to love?!

Charles Worthington Maximum Hold Hairspray - This was my favourite ever hairspray, but when it stopped being produced about a year ago, I completely stopped using it. However, last month I finally finished it off as I realised that no matter how slowly I use it it's never going to last forever so I may as well finish it and free up some space in my cupboard.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Conditioner - This is one of my all time favourite hair care ranges as it's one of the only volume collections that still washes and nourishes by hair. Many others try to be too gentle and end up achieving nothing but this is lovely. It leaves my hair feeling super soft and not weighed down. Definitely a repurchase.

Bodycare

Accessorize Body Lotion - This came as part of a perfume set and I can't say I was keen on the scent as it was a bit mature for me; I actually gave the perfume to my mum! As for the lotion itself, I can't say too much about it, yes it moisturised my skin, but no more than any other product and there was nothing special about it. For this reason I won't be repurchasing this.

Nivea Invisible Deodorant - I wasn't sure whether or not to include this as its a bit personal but I just had to tell you guys about Nivea deodorants. I've tried a few different ones by them now, and I can honestly say that they have the most effective and long lasting protection - far more than Sure or Dove for me. I'm already onto a new one of these, this time from the Pearl Beauty collection.

Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter -  I have a love hate relationship with this; yes it does give me a lot of moisture, but my skin feels sticky for hours after I've applied it, which is okay if I'm going straight to bed but if I'm getting ready for a night out and need to put tights on, this is a massive no no. Therefore it's not a repurchase but I will use up the other ones I have left from Christmas.

Soap and Glory Flake Away Scrub - I loved this to death! It's super exfoliating and smells amazing! I would definitely repurchase but I got a full size one for Christmas so there is no need at the moment. I would like to try out some of the other scents though.

Skincare

Johnson's Eye Makeup Remover - This is one of the only eye makeup removers I've ever used as I struck lucky and found one I loved after only trying a few. It's super effective and really gentle, and super cheap too! A firm favourite of mine.

No7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner - I really love how soft this makes my skin feel and it works great on my oily skin. Another definite favourite that I have already repurchased.

Makeup

I appear to have only used concealer for the last 6 months hahaha. Basically, I had loads of half started concealers so I had a couple of months where I used them all up instead of buying new ones to try. I didn't use up any other products as makeup always lasts forever!

Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer - I really didn't love this as the coverage wasn't high enough for me. Although it had good lasting power, I couldn't find a good match for my skin tone either, so it won't be a repurchase as I have tried a lot better.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Concealer - I did really like this product as it lasted well on my oily skin and under my eyes as well as having super high coverage, however it set much too fast for me. I could only work on one section of my face at a time or the concealer would set before I had finished blending it in. Again, not a repurchase for me.

Collection Lasting Perfection - Possibly the most talked about makeup product of all time (I don't know if that's actually true but it certainly seems that way!). This totally lives up to the hype for me, and is the best concealer I've ever tried. The only downside is that it runs out quickly, this tube only lasted two months, but it's so amazing that I wouldn't care if I had to repurchase it weekly!

And that concludes this super long post! Congratulations if you read right to the end and I'm sorry this post is so long but I really wanted to give you guys a good insight into my thoughts about these products.

My 2014 Resolutions

Now new years resolutions are usually something I don't bother with, partly because I have always lacked the will power to see them through, and partly because I haven't been able to think of one. This year however, I surprised even myself when it got to new years day and I had a clear list of things I wanted to achieve in 2014. And, by putting the list on the internet for all to see, I thought I would be more likely to complete them as not only is there more pressure as all you guys will know about them, but also the list will be clearly visible to me as a constant reminder of what I need to do.

So, let the list commence...

Health Related

Lose 10 Pounds - Yes it's a very random amount but it will take me down to my target weight and I don't exactly want to go declaring that on the internet! Also, it's not a massive amount of weight but I want to improve my fitness and strength which will involve converting fat to muscle so although I won't be losing weight, I'll still be getting a better body (can you tell I've been researching this? hahaha)

Drink a Glass of Water Everyday - To some of you this may seem absolutely ridiculous but I hate the taste of water. Usually I only drink squash and juice, so I want to swap one of these drinks everyday for a glass of water as it is so much healthier.

Go to the Gym Once a Week - I'm sure this is on many people's lists but I'm determined to stay fit this year! I have also ordered Jillian Michaels' '30 Day Shred', and am hoping that should I not have the time to go to the gym one week, I could to a couple of sessions of this to keep up my fitness and reassure myself that all is not lost!

Do the 7 Minute Workout Everyday - This is a nifty little app that I've downloaded onto my iPod, and it gives you an intense circuit to do that only takes up 7 minutes of your day (though truthfully the circuit lasts for 7 minutes and 50 seconds so is nearer to 8 minutes, but it's still short all the same). It aims to improve strength and fitness without taking too long, and from the results I've had so far, it does just that.

Improve my Posture - In recent months, I have begun to feel very self-conscious about how hunched my shoulders are, so I want to spend a few minutes a day pulling them back in the hope that it will help. This will be very hard to measure but I've got my mum on duty to see if she notices any difference!

Social Media

Do a Blog Post Once a Week - Obviously I've only just started this blog, but I really want it to be a success, and I'm hoping that posting regularly will help me to achieve this. I would love to be able to do more posts than this, but realistically it wouldn't happen as I have my GCSEs this year, among many other time-consuming events.

Post on Instagram Twice a Week - I feel like recently I have neglected my instagram rather a lot, but I really want to get back into a routine of posting regularly as I really love sharing photos and interacting with my followers.

Miscellaneous

Write down One Good Memory Everyday - This year, I will have a lot of stressful things happening, including taking my GCSEs and starting college, and I really want to try and stay positive through that. I am hoping that doing this will make me feel happier overall, and teach me to look for the good in everything that happens. This is one of the resolutions that I want to successfully achieve the most, so I've bought a cute little diary to write all my memories in to encourage me to do so (and keep track of my other resolutions).

Get a Job - This is something that I can't work on on a regular basis (is it right to have two 'on's there?!), but something big that I really want to achieve this year. I love the sense of having my own money and not feeling guilty for asking my parents for some. Being a youngun though, (my birthday is in late August), it is likely that I will have left school and started college before I fulfill this.

And there we have it - a big long list of things I want to do this year! I plan on doing a post in six months time to update you guys on how they're all going and keep me motivated to continue with my goals for another six months!

So until next time, goodbye!

Topshop Ohh La La Lipstick Review

Hello everyone! I suppose as this is my first post I ought to welcome you to my blog, so welcome to my little internet space and I hope you enjoy reading my little ramblings. Now, I don't want to waste too much of your time going on about who I am and what this blog will be about, so if you want to read more, just look under the 'About Me' tab.

So as you will know from the title, this post is a review of a Topshop lipstick in the shade 'ohh la la'. I know that a lot of people like to do '10 facts about me' type posts for their first one, but I wanted to start how I plan to continue; with mainly beauty and fashion related blog posts. Don't get me wrong, I will do one in the future, just not yet! So on with the review...

Before I begin on the lipstick itself, I think it would be logical to comment on the packaging. As usual with Topshop makeup, the lipstick is beautifully presented with a gorgeous black and white striped pattern, and I love that it comes in a box as it makes it feel more high end and luxurious.

Now onto the colour of the lipstick, which is a beautiful peachy orange colour. It's a lovely subtle way to venture into the land of orange lip colour without having to wear a shade that's too out-there. I think it looks great on pale skin tones, and darker skin tones would benefit from applying it a bit more generously in order to make the colour slightly bolder, so that it stands out more. This lipstick has a matte formula which is very long wearing, I generally get around 8 hours wear, including eating and drinking. It isn't a particularly drying formula, however I would still recommend putting a lip balm underneath as the lipstick isn't very creamy, so the balm helps it to glide over your lips. And of course, during the winter it is essential to keep your lips continually hydrated with a lip balm anyway.

You can buy this lipstick for £8 from Topshop, which is at the higher end of drugstore prices, but I think it's absolutely worth it for such a great lipstick! Click here for a link to where you can buy it.
